Our card worker this month is Russell Levinson. At previous workshops he has taught you important sleights and tricks to do with them. This time he is going to concentrate on the oldest and most classic of card tricks – the Three Card Monte. This is something that everyone should know about! Used both as a card trick for entertainment and on the street by con-artists it has stood the test of time over centuries! We welcome back Martin Cox this month and he is doing some elastic band magic. With just a few elastic bands (which many close-up magicians wear permanently on their wrists) there is a whole host of tricks and effects that you can perform from Crazy Mans Handcuffs, to linking and unlinking bands and broken and restored. Our third workshop presenter is our own workshop staff members and secretary of The Magic Circle, Megan Knowles-Bacon. She is going to be looking at some aspects of stage performance (a lot of which is equally important for close-up) such as timing and applause cues. Sometimes a good act can be ruined by a lack of understanding of these areas of performance. All YMC members have received their own email inviting them to register for this exciting workshop. Numbers are strictly limited so get your application in now!
